Pirates and Mermaids Birthday Party

We had an absolute blast creating this Pirates & Mermaids party for Aubrey’s 3rd birthday!

Mermaid themes are all the rage these days, but this twist on the classic theme was inspired by the notion to not be ENTIRELY girly. I mean, some of the guests are boys, right? The guests received invitations that set the tone for this event… message in a bottle style!

Pirate details were featured on the main food table, and feminine mermaid-ness took over the dessert table.

Ahoy, me mateys!

Burlap, wood crates, driftwood branches, “sand” (raw sugar!), shells, chains, coins & jewels gave us the shipwrecked look that we were going for.

Shades of aqua and pink were seen throughout our Custom Printable Collection and the decor/food on the table.

There was an abundance of yummy food to display.

Now on to the sweets… Under the Sea!

We made the “jelly fish” poms out of tissue paper purchased from the one and only TomKat Studio!  We also purchased our pearl and blue gumballs from their shop as well.

The Mermaid table boasted more sand, shells, jewels and the same color scheme as the Pirate table.

The cakepops were made by Jessica of Sugar and Spiked… and as usual, they were delicious (she’s our go-to cakepop gal!).

The fabulous sandcastle cake is from Johnson’s Custom Cakes and More, our preferred cake vendor.

The clam cookies were so fun! Icing as glue, a pearl gumball & a couple of candy eyes. Voila!

The kids enjoyed a water slide on this hot Florida day.

Favors were given out that included silly string and trident glow sticks.

Happy birthday, Aubrey!  We were so honored to be the Stylists for your special day.

(how unbelievably cute is SHE?!)
