This week, we wanted to share a tip regarding backgrounds for display tables. We have learned (the hard way, sometimes) that this is necessary to fully achieve the look.
Most often for us, this involves use of a backdrop fabric. We created our own backdrop “stand” by filling buckets with concrete and inserting wood posts sticking up. A couple of hooks attached to the posts that hold a steel pipe to drape fabric on, and you’ve got a place to hang your backdrop! The photo above from our Spring Af{fair} display shows one of our backdrops made of some standard fabric hung on our stand (you can’t see the stand!), with some lace and paper bloom accents.
Some crystal detail hung from the backdrop fabric for our 40′s Gangster Party. It was so simple to assemble and really made all the difference for this display.
RECYCLE your backdrop fabric too! Hey, you paid however much for that fabric. Add a couple of new details, like a framed centerpiece and side curtains as we did for our VIP Lounge Party, and it’s a whole new look!
Don’t feel like lugging around two concrete-filled buckets? We don’t blame you.
Another background option (a fabric-free option) is a solid colored wall and some additional details. For a mermaid display table we recently styled for our Pirates & Mermaids Party, we utilized a plain wall with some hanging tissue pom accents (see below).
So, our advice is: if you’re styling a display table sometime soon, DON’T forget the backdrop! You’ll thank us
.
