If we were ever into predicting things, we would say that in the near future with styled events, the candy bar as we know it will be replaced. Dessert bars come forth!
Don’t get us wrong, we’re not knockin’ a good old fashioned candy bar (we do them frequently!), we’re just encouraging you to expand the horizon. Here’s why:
-Sugar and flour usually cost less than candy! Make or buy something fabulous and more substantial to add to your candy bar. It can be a bit easier on your wallet but look like you’re getting a lot more for your buck!
-In our experience, candy doesn’t all get eaten! We absolutely hate to see anything go to waste, and for some reason people just don’t take as much candy as you’d think.
-You’ll illustrate the theme with more than just a color scheme! Gumballs, M&Ms and Sixlets can only get you so far. If you doing a country theme, do some mini pecan pies! Intentional mini desserts add the “wow” factor.
Now, don’t ditch the candy all together. We’d recommend using a mixture; the candy and dessert should mingle. But the ratio should be more dessert than candy. Of course, there is always the clean and elegant Tuxedo Candy Bar with black and white candy. For these types of candy bars, candy is sometimes all you need.
Remember, people like options, and we just like to see people eating, laughing and enjoying their delicious sweets!
Check out some events with dessert displays we’ve done in the past: Rustic Love Birds, 40′s Gangster Anniversary Party, Pirates & Mermaids, Lime, Black & White Party.
YUM!
