Tipworthy Tuesday: Chosing Foods to Fit the Theme!

You’ve seen us talk about how to make food bite sized for your event, but it’s not just about HOW to display your food…. it’s making good use of WHAT are you displaying!  Today we’re sharing our thoughts on utilizing food items that will be an integral part of your themed display, not just sit on top of it.

It’s so important to chose foods that matter. The fact that you displayed mini pecan pies at your western shindig can MAKE that party.

Remember to pick your foods based on the theme. Doing a classic tuxedo candy bar? Don’t forget the black & white cookies. A shabby chic theme? French macaroons. Western or all-American style? Better get some mini pies (or a fun pie station!). Modern glamour? Jeweled bon-bons all the way.

If you’re getting baked goods, don’t forget to ask your baker how they can customize your dessert.  They may put a twist on your cupcakes or cakepops that will fit your theme perfectly.

Jessica of Sugar and Spiked made us some killer eyeball cupcakes for the Goth Glam Party we styled this past Halloween.

Blood red velvet filling and all!

Be creative; integrate the theme into your drinks (or in the case of our 40′s Gangster Anniversary Party, your ice cubes!).

The options are endless!

So don’t throw a couple of kinds of cookies, a punch bowl and chips & dip on the table and call it a day. Be intentional with your food choices! You’ll be glad you did.
