This event was extra special to Karis and I as it was honoring one of our best friends. This one is for you, Shelby (and baby Micah!).
We were inspired to create a beachy look for the baby shower while including storybook elements. A bright & cheery “Storytime by the Sea” theme was born.
The dessert table was the main event. Aqua and coral with white were the colors of choice, and from the old books on display to the classic storybook references, everything took on a vintage feel.
For the banner, we hung scrapbook paper designed to look like pages out of a book with twine, and glued painted letters to them. We chose a coral & white polka-dotted fabric for the backdrop and table linens. The table decor consisted of coral roses and baby’s breath, “sand” (raw sugar), shells, and aqua vases.
The dessert bar served cake pops by Sugar and Spiked, lemon parfaits in baby food jars made by us, and macaroons & starfish cookies by Johnson’s Custom Cakes and More. Our custom label collection featured classic storybook graphics and hand-stamped text for an old typewriter look.
Baby Micah made an appearance
Our custom label collection and decor of coral roses and baby’s breath, “sand” (raw sugar), shells, and aqua vases continued over to the casual lunch table.
Mini-bites of pasta salad, berry fruit salad, spinach & artichoke dip and deli sandwiches were served.
Our guest of honor loves tea, so it seemed only natural to incorporate a tea station into this event (not to mention a little nod to the classic storybook Alice in Wonderland!).
We used coral & aqua detailed china with assorted tea and accompaniments.
Along with tea and water, the drink table included Izze soda bottles with straw tags.
We decided on “message in a bottle” style favors filled with lavender infused bath salt, the label paying adage to the book theme.
Shelby, we hope you enjoyed your special day as much as we enjoyed styling it for you!
